Minneapolis Glass Company in Brooklyn Park, MN is looking to hire a full-time Machine Operator to join our second shift Glass Fabrication Team. This second shift position is 4-10 hour days M-Thu and earns a competitive union salary starting at $27.62/hr. plus a $1.00 shift premium. After 12 months in the production role, the salary would be $31.60/hr. We are adding a second shift to our operation with a predictable work schedule of 2:00pm- 12:30am Monday-Thursday. AN EVENING IN THE LIFE OF A MACHINE OPERATOR

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating machines that manufacture glass products. Taking big sheets of raw glass, using various machinery to cut, edge, notch, paint etc. to create a finished glass product for distribution. You will be responsible for basic equipment set up and maintenance to ensure high quality production.

Using our standard operating processes and software, you will ensure product in created for jobs on time and to specifications. Attention to detail and accuracy are key to success. Your ideas matter and will be key to continuous improvement for Minneapolis Glass.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience on production machines or manufacturing work
• Previous success working a second or third shift.
• Knowledge of glass fabrication strongly preferred.
• Must be physically capable of performing the work, with ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted and stand for 10 hours.
• Strong mechanical aptitude to work with tools and trouble shoot issues with equipment
• Able to complete training on a first shift before assuming the second shift schedule

PAY RATE

Second Shift production workers start at $28.62/hr. union scale + $1.00 and progress to $31.60/hr. after 12 months.

WORK SCHEDULE

This machine operator position is full-time 4-days a week schedule of 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM Monday-Thursday 10-hour shift with 30-minute unpaid meal and two 15-minute paid breaks. Overtime may be available on a Friday or Saturday.

Must be able to train on first shift - approximately 6:00AM - 2:30PM for the first 4-6 weeks.
